Each fall, Delta Zeta hosts our annual Wing Bash event to support our local philanthropy, The Turtle Grant. The Turtle Grant was created in 2005 by the chapter to support the speech and hearing impaired community of Northeast Georgia. Our aim is to build a relationship with this community and support them through grantmoney and service hours. The Turtle Grant committee organizes and navigates these projects, and we rely on the full support of the chapter to make the Turtle Grant a success. The all‐you‐can‐eat wing dinner is one of the most popular philanthropic events on campus, and helped the chapter win the UGA Greek Life Outstanding Philanthropy Award in 2015.
The Turtle Grant is 100% funded by the Delta Zeta at UGA. In order to raise money for the Turtle Grant, we hold our annual Wing Bash philanthropy event each fall. It is our hope that the Turtle Grant will continue to grow in the years to come!
Our 11th annual Wingbash philanthropy event was a HUGE success! Hosted on the Delta Zeta front lawn in September of 2016, Wingbash was a blast! Everyone had so much fun from our endless wings, wing-eating contest, raffles and door prizes, and live music. We raised over $10,000! We are so thankful for everyone who participated and helped us out!
